Hopewell Valley Golf Club has recently undertaken to achieve a River-Friendly Certification status from the Stony Brook Millstone Watershed Association, a non-profit organization “dedicated to enhancing the quality of the natural environment in the 265-square-mile region drained by Stony Brook and the Millstone River."
Matt Stout, Golf Course Superintendent, and Sean McCullough, Gardener, are leading the effort to refine our facility's management practices to benefit the local environment. The River-Friendly program focuses on land-use stewardship, the primary components of which are water quality preservation, water conservation, wildlife habitat enhancement, and community education and outreach.
